As part of my cross-Canada tour with my doc, "The U.S. and Us", I'm heading up to Whitehorse today to screen my film at the Old Fire Hall on Saturday, January 10th at 8 pm. This event (my visit) is being sponsored by the Yukon Film Society. www.yukonfilmsociety.com
I'm excited about this visit as I've never been to Whitehorse in the winter. The first and last time I was there was years ago, in the summer, for a 2-week canoe trip down the Wind River. Now, that was a life-altering experience.
I just checked the weather and it's -33 today so I look forward to comparing it to Winnipeg's -45 in mid-December!

Wanted to compliment you on the sound design; didn't have a chance to mentioned it during Q&A but can you talk a bit about what your intention was; I suspect from your other comments that the light almost, at times, comic tone was intentional to convey your somewhat-lightehearted POV of a serious downer subject.

Thanks for coming out last night and for your interest in the film!
I had a great Sound Designer in Gael MacLean who added extra layers and depth while drawing on the essence of the film and its subject. (I can get you in touch if you want to use her for your next doc.)
An important aspect of the sound design was the music. The amazing Robyn Traill composed original music for "The U.S. and Us" which reinforced the content while adding a certain hilarity. (He can't help himself; he's a very funny and talented guy.) Quinn
